FASHION: 8 ACCESSORIES EVERY MAN SHOULD OWN

Due to the messages I've been getting from some of y'll (which I really appreciate) and also my procastination to doing it, finally got someone to help me with it. Here's a post, for my male readers from Collins of  thestreethaute. If you are a male or female and you would like to share your bit on fashion and style, just send me an email on moonwalkertalks@gmail.com  to get featured. Hope you do enjoy this! Be sure to let me know in the comment section.

We all know one of the major keys to a man's heart is a well stocked wardrobe. But what is a wardrobe if it doesn't have the necessary pieces? You can tell a man's history from the content of his wardrobe and the accessories he wears. Speaking of accessories, selecting the right ones could be a huge challenge. Here is a list of necessary accessories a man should own:
1. WATCH
To many men, this is the only hand accessory that exists. Truly, a good timepiece can earn a man quite some reputations. It is very advisable to invest in a good timepiece rather than lots of not so presentable ones. You don't want a bad watch to spoil a great ensemble, do you?

2.  TIES
A great number of ties never hurt no one. But a great number of awful looking ties made from bad materials might as well lead to a number of bad appearances. Be careful how you select your ties because no matter how good a suit is, it can't hide a bad tie. Consider the patterns and also versatility when selecting a tie.

3.  WALLET
A wallet is a thin object for carrying personal items. As men, we can go years without changing our wallets. Some say it's because of the close bond which is quite debatable. Either way, a wallet is a very important accessory as it helps define how fashionable and organized a man is. I'd say wallets have minds of their own too because as we have accessories, wallets also have accessories like wallet chains and the likes.

4.  SOCKS
Socks have been timeless pieces which both genders adorned from way back. As old as the existence of socks, it is still quite complicated to select the right kinds of socks.   In selecting the right kind of socks,  one has to consider the texture, colour and pattern amongst other factors. Most people prefer cotton for its softness and comfort. The colour of the socks should be selected to complement the shoes and entire ensemble.

5.  SCARVES
Many men, especially in this part of the country think scarves are just for the ladies alone. This is not the case as scarves not only adds colour to your outfit, they also helps to keep the body warm during the cold days. Invest in some good quality scarves. Scarves can be paired with coats and jackets.

6.  BELT
You remember that shoe in your closet that has refused to get old and wear out? Yup,  that's what a high quality belt experience feels like. Invest in some good quality belts specifically in black and chocolate brown and maybe tan. These colours are really good because they blend with outfits easily.

7.  SUNGLASSES
Back in the day, the only function of sunglasses was shielding the eyes from the rays of the sun. Sunglasses had a sense if style to every ensemble we come up with. It is usually that finishing touch to an outfit and now, the millennial generation have found a way to infuse modern day style in to the creation of sunglasses; from really thing dark ones to the huge ones with cool aesthetics.

8.  CUFF LINKS
It's no doubt that cuff links help one look like he's in a professional line of work. There are many smart and well constructed pairs and you could find them made in different materials and even personalised. Be careful when selecting Cuff Links as the tiniest mismatch could have verse effects on your look.

What's your take on this? What other accessories do you think men should own? What other post would you like to see on this blog for men? do let me know below

WHAT'S IN MY BAG: THE SCHOOL EDITION

 Hey dear,
How was your weekend? Hopefully not too boring. Mine, was good, spent it preparing for school as classes resume today. For those of us still in school, we know how the school life is and also for those working, preparation is always key! However, I shared how we all can add a mix to our wardrobe with prints  here
So today, I'm going to be taking y'll on a bag tour (what my school bag looks like) hope you like! Let's begin!
THE BAG:
The bag is in form of a tote and backpack which has a matching purse (that's amazing) and its big enough to contain all my stuff and I got it from @moonwalker_official on Instagram. I also like it because it's a different type of tote bag, which makes me feel unique!

THE CONTENT:

HDQ Planner: Got it from a giveaway from Desola (@Dee_mako) and it's such an awesome planner (review coming soon). I carry it around because I write my plans and goals for the day in it and also ideas.
Purse: The matching purse is amazing and has three deep compartment, different from the usual purses and wallets. Contains all my necessary financial items.
Notebooks: For writing my notes in class.
The Secret: This year, I've decided to read 2 books per month and The Secret by Rhonda Byne is one of my books for the month, so I take it with me, so as to read when I'm less busy.
LipStain: It's no secret that Lipsticks and Lipstains are my fave make up products! Zaron Posh lipstain is my go-to lipstain. It's so amazing and lasting.
 Earphones
Caprisonne: Am I the only one still in love with Caprisonne? My all-time favorite is Orange. what's yours?
Glasses: Apart from my eye problems, my love for glasses haven't been here. It's no little wonder that I'm seen with one almost everytime. This is one fashion item everyone should own.
Tablet: For my lecture notes, and many other necessary things.
Other things in my bag that are not in the picture are; tissue, charger and sticky notes.

Well, these are the major things found in my School bag, what's yours? What are the main things that can always be found in your bag (male or female)? Do share below in the comment section. Have a Lovely Week!

HOW TO: STYLE PRINTS TO WORK

Hey dear,
Hope it’s not too late to scream HAPPY NEW  YEAR!!! I’m just so sure this year is gonna be our Year of Greatness!
The Holidays have come to an end, work has now begun and so does school. Today’s post is about styling prints to work most especially Vintage prints.
Most people in their work-wear wardrobe usually go with one color like black, blue.etc and don’t wear prints to work because pulling off prints to work can be quite tricky. The ensemble can look too loud or work inappropriate if things are not done rightly. Well, look who’s here to help?!πŸ™‹
-          Careful Pairing
Make sure you pair your prints carefully. If you wearing a vintage shirt like mine, choose a fitted trouser or skirt.

-          Go Easy on the color
Choose neutral and solid colors (black, dark blue, grey and brown) to balance a loud pattern. In this case Less is More.

-          Go Small
Prints (whether polka dots, vintage prints, floral or stripes) are better when they are small. Big prints overwhelm the look.
.
-          Hairstyles and Accessories
Skip dangly earrings, loud color bags and big hairstyles. Stick to simple and tone colors, because you don’t need anything extra getting in the way to complicate the look.

-          Watch your feet
With prints, you have to watch your footwear because they can go from classy to costumey. Simple and elegant shoes anchor your look, so choose classic pairs like court shoes like I did or not too dramatic flats in solid colors.

-          Smile
Going to work Smiling brightens up your look and day!

Now you can add Prints to your Work Wear Wardrobe!
How have you been? Am I the only one who thinks the days of January are flying to fast? Would you rock prints to work and what other tips do you suggest? Do share in the comment section. I love to hear from you.

RED SAUCE

Hey dear,
Here's my last post for 2016 and what better way to end it than with an Outfit post! So its Harmattan here in Nigeria, and this how it's got me, especially in the mornings. I paired my lace Bomber Jacket with this purple palazzo pants and black socks and a bandana (all you need for this weather). Reason for the title of this post is because, in this weather we all need  Hot Sauce. Styled the bomber jacket as an off-shoulder, one-shoulder outfit and full. What's your take on it?

As you step into 2017, Remember to,
                                                                     Live
                                                                       Laugh
                                                           Look up to God

Its been an amazing year with everyone of you, for reading, commenting, subscribing and always been there. Thanks everyone and a Great 2017 to us all!!!

2016 IN REVIEW

2016 has been my year of Beginnings; the year I started this blog (Blogiversary soon guys) , the year I started the MoonWalker brand (the cloth, footwear and bag designing, wig making and consultations) and also the year my social life and interaction took a downturn 😒
It was also the year I fell in love with Blue unconsciously and also my shoulders

THINGS I LEARNED IN 2016

- Do good as always, even if there is no profit or reward.

- Be kind and helpful to people (in words, cash, kind and any little way you can)
- Smile always! You don’t know who your smile might brighten their day or who might fall in love with it ☺

- Busy does not mean Productive. You can be busy and not productive.

- The fact that people aren’t talking doesn’t mean they aren’t watching

- Give it your all, irrespective of what people think about it, because they will be the ones praising you when you are done.

- Believe in yourself Always!

- Better Days are ahead! Don’t think too much on your past, losses and failures. Move on!

                                                                             #CladInMW

- Don’t let someone talk you down, if someone makes you feel stupid or inadequate, let go of that person, you will always find better.

- Don’t fall short of your expectation.

- Positive Vibes only!

                                                                                  #CladInMW

- Be your own cheerleader, don’t always wait for people to cheer you.

- God cares about everything concerning you (from your hair, to your clothes, to every single detail about you) Always tell Him about them.

- Always remember that God is always working behind the scenes for you, it might not look like it but believe and trust Him.

COLOR POP SERIES - MW SHIFT DRESS 2

Currently listening - 24k Magic, Bruno Mars

So, here's the second look I created and this can be worn to movies, casual events and all. Paired this shift dress with canvas because I couldn't resist my cool and edgy look (my go-to look 😏). I love how the canvas gave me a really casual look (footwear go a long way in changing your look)

The third and last look would be up soon, which is your favorite look yet? How else would you style the shift dress? If you would like to order for this dress or the hair wig, send me an email - moonwalkertalks@gmail.com.
